"Star Trek" fans obsess on the other side of 9 (soon to be 10) theatrical films and as many as 400 TV episodes. "James Bond" fans finish vicariously to the debonair spy via 19-plus movies and Ian Fleming´s novels. All those tykes growing up with Harry Potter will have 7 wonderful books and 7 (hopefully as wonderful) silver colander experiences to enjoy.
Every way of life and every generation offers its own mega-series of richly detailed, harshly defined fanciful worlds. Dawning in the prematurely-1960s, the Japanese created the phenomena known as Zatoichi. Zatoichi the blind swordsman (played by Shintaro Katsu) is the concentration of a 26-film series and nearly 100 TV episodes. Zatoichi wanders from metropolis to town as a masseuse. Regardless how, given his reputation as a skillful warrior, Zatoichi manages to retrieve involved in a contrast of situations that require him to bust out a can of whoopass. 
The series begins with 1962´s "Zatoichi 1: The Tale of Zatoichi". In the first movie, Zatoichi becomes embroiled in a turf tilt against between rival yakuza gangs. Zatoichi doesn´t Non-Standard real want (nor extremity, for that matter) the regard that he gets from the gangs. In all events, he finds that he must fight another warrior as skillful as he is with the sword.
The "Zatoichi" movies offer fairly straightforward stories with peradventure a warp or two to reward longtime followers. Most of the delights in watching these films come from the colorful characters that populate Zatoichi´s eventful zest. For illustration, in the first film, our sightless hero deals with yakuza thugs who are remarkably not that distinctive from modern-day punks with hardly any to do but glad eye at women and work have a weakness for drunken louts. There´s an amusing scene where Zatoichi plays dice with a bunch of gamblers, and he manages to take drop of them trying to pick up c espouse advantage of him! LOL.
